NEW UPDATE FROM LOAN BOARD (HESLB) ON LOAN APPLICATION 2018/19



The Higher Education Student Loan Board (HESLB) wishes to inform the public that it intends to start receiving a high education credit application for the year 2018/2019 from the first week of May, 2018 after the completion of major system improvements of applications through the internet.
Application system improvementsHESLB Executive Director Mr. Abdul-Razaq Badru said in his statement on April 17, 2018 that the application will be received online (www.olas.heslb.go.tz) which has been made up of improvements with the University of Dar es salaam Computer Center (UCC-UDSM). ).
Moreover, Mr. Badru said the window will be opened in line with the announcement of a detailed guide to introduce the application, the deadline for submitting applications, the qualifications and criteria used to analyze and lend for the next year of study expected to begin in October 2018.
“We urge all those who are hoping to apply for a higher education loan to take a closer look at the guidance we will provide for media and site at the beginning of May, 2018, and to focus on it,” said Mr. Badru.
Mr. Badru explained that the Credit Board’s call has been issued since years ago when credit applicants submitted their applications without considering the guidance provided by some student lending.
“Last year, for example, over 10,027 applicants among more than 61,000 applicants did not attach such important documents as birth certificates or even deaths certified by the Registration, Insolvency and Guarantee Agency (RITA) as we have directed,” he said.
Important documentation requiredOther important documents that credit applicants should prepare include copies of professional fourth-grade certificates, six and diploma certificates that have been verified by the Authorization Commissioner, namely the Lawyer or the Clerk.
In addition, applicants with disabilities or parents with disabilities should have letters confirming the disability from the Regional Medical Officer, District or District Health Center;
Mr. Badru has added that pupils who have been sponsored in their secondary or diploma studies have a warranty letter from the institutions that finance their studies.
HESLB officials provide education in the regionAt another point, Mr. Badru said this year the Board of Directors will visit various regions to meet creditors for the purpose of educating them about the proper procedures for submitting their mortgage applications through the internet. The schedule and locations for the meetings will be announced at the beginning of May, 2018.
HESLB started a formal job in 2005 that, in addition to other responsibilities, provide higher education loans to Tanzanians needing and qualified and collecting the same loans issued by the Government since 1994/1995.
